Pakistan

The Pakistan National Cricket Team is an international cricket team representing Pakistan. It is administrated by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Pakistan is a full member of the International Cricket Council with Test and One Day International status.
Before the independence of Pakistan, cricket was played well before the first Pakistan national team was granted test match playing status. Documentation and archives show that during the 18th century, cricket was played on the western side of India and many successful Indian cricketers played for the English cricket team. It was not until July 28, 1952 that Pakistan started playing test match cricket. Their first match took place in Delhi against India on October of the same year. Their first international tour was to England during 1954. Over the half century, Pakistan has become one of the most challenging and unpredictable teams in the world, the team won the 1992 World Cup and were runners up in the 1999 World Cup. The country has produced several world-class players such as Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Sarfaraz Nawaz, Mushtaq Mohammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Abdul Qadir, Wasim Akram, Inzamam-ul-Haq,Saeed Anwar, Waqar Younis, Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Akhtar.As of October 2007, the Pakistani team has played 332 Test matches, winning 31.02%, losing 26.50% and drawing 42.46% of its games. The team is ranked sixth in the ICC Test Championship and fifth place in the ICC ODI Championship. On August 28, 2006, Pakistan won its debut Twenty20 International match in England and were runners up in the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 in September 2007. They are the current ICC World Twenty20 champions, beating Sri Lanka on 21 June 2009 by eight wickets.


India

The Indian cricket team is the national cricket team of India. Governed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it is a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test and One Day International (ODI) status.
The Indian cricket team is currently ranked third by the ICC in Tests and second in ODIs. As of April 7, 2009, the Indian team has played 430 Test matches, winning 99, losing 136 and drawing 194 of its games, with also 1 tied match.] India has a relatively better record in One Day Internationals, winning over 50% of matches played. Currently, Gary Kirsten serves as the head coach while Mahendra Singh Dhoni serves as the captain of the Indian cricket team in all forms of the game Under the leadership of Dhoni, the Indian team has set a country record for most back-to-back ODI wins (9 straight wins and has emerged as one of the most formidable teams in international cricket Though cricket was introduced to India by European merchant sailors in the 18th-century and the first cricket club in India was established in Calcutta in 1792, India's national cricket team didn't play their first Test match until 25 June 1932 at Lord's. They became the sixth team to be granted Test cricket statuIn their first fifty years of international cricket, India proved weaker than Australia and England, winning only 35 of the 196 test matches. The team, however, gained strength near the end of the 1970s with the emergence of players such as Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and the Indian spin quartet. Traditionally much stronger at home than abroad, the Indian team has continued to be highly ranked since then in all forms of cricket. It won the Cricket World Cup in 1983 and was runners-up in 2003. It also won the inaugural World Twenty20 in 2007. The current team contains many of the world's leading players, including Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid who hold numerous cricketing world records.


England


The England cricket team (Welsh: Tîm criced Lloegr) is the cricket team which represents England and Wales. Since 1 January 1997 it has been governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), having been previously governed by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) from 1903 until the end of 1996.
England and Australia were the first teams to be granted Test status on 15 March 1877 and they gained full membership to the International Cricket Council (ICC) on 15 June 1909. England and Australia also took part in the first One Day International (ODI) on 5 January 1971. England played their first Twenty20 match on 13 June 2005 and once again their opponents were Australia.
As of 20 July 2009, England have won 309 of the 888 Test matches they have played and are ranked fifth in the ICC Test Championship. They have finished runners-up in 3 Cricket World Cups (1979, 1987 and 1992), an ICC Champions Trophy (2004) and are ranked sixth in the ICC ODI Championship.


AUSTRALIA
The Australian cricket team is the national cricket team of Australia. It is the joint oldest team in Test cricket, having played in the first Test match in 1877 (defeating England by 45 runs).
As of 1 February 2009, the Australian team has played 704 Test matches, winning 46.66%, losing 25.95% and drawing 27.09% of its games. It has a winning record against every other Test nation.[2] The Australian national cricket team has also led the ICC Test Championship table for the majority of the time since the creation of the ICC Test table system in January 2001. The South African Cricket Team did lead this table for a brief period (January to May) in 2003[citation needed], before Australia resumed the first position on the table.
They are also, in one-day cricket, the winners of the last three Cricket World Cups. Australia won the Cricket World Cup 4 times in total; 1987, 1999, 2003 & 2007. As of 28 April 2007 they are undefeated in 29 consecutive World Cup matches. They have led the ICC One-Day International Championship table from its inception through to 18 February 2007[citation needed], and then again from 7 April 2007 until 30 January 2009.[citation needed] In 2002, they were named World Team of the Year at the Laureus World Sports Awards in recognition of their world record sequence of test match
West Indies
The West Indian cricket team, also known colloquially as The Windies or The West Indies, is a multi-national cricket team representing a sporting confederation of a dozen English-speaking Caribbean countries and British dependencies that form the British West Indies.
From the mid 1970s to the early 1990s the West Indies team was the strongest in the world in both test match and One Day International cricket, but more recently it has struggled. As of 19 June 2009, the West Indian team has played 457 Test matches, winning 33.26%, losing 32.38% and drawing 34.13% of its games
